These hooks are sturdy, attach to the ladder easily and securely, and work as intended. The wheels on the back side make it easy to roll the ladder up the roof rather than slide it, which makes less wear on the roofing. But they are packaged and sold singly while they need to be used in pairs -- kind of like a shoe store selling shoes singly instead of in pairs.

I ordered this product expecting that there was a pair of ladder hooks, since the ladder needs two for saftey. I ordered the product on 052109. I called on 060209 because the item had not arrived by the time promised. the item was not shiped until 060909, when I was away for two weeks. Three attempted deliveries failed while I was away. The item was shipped back to sender. I called the company and they sent it back at my expence. I received the shipment on 061809 with only one ladder hook. Suffice it to say I was not satisfied with this transaction. However, I must say this is only the first negative experience I have had with Amazon.com. I hope it will be the last.

I recently purchased two Qual-Craft ladder hooks, with wheels from Amazon and used them this morning to make a couple of minor repairs to my roof. As stated by other reviewers, the feel was both solid and secure, and there was no damage to my roof as a result of using them. I agree that they make the ladder heavy, but the weight can work to your advantage in repositioning the ladder around on the roof. Be careful though, a small amount of angle to get the wheels rolling can get the ladder moving pretty quickly to a new position, which could result in losing control. Start slow and you will get the hang of it.
These hooks are built to very high quality standards, hence the weight. They are easy to mount and the superb information shared by all the reviewers on this page was extremely helpful...thank you! In my opinion, this product receives 5 stars for quality, utility, safety, and cost. However, I admit that I was also experienced the same confussion with the ordering information as expressed in some of the reviews. I couldn't agree more....these hooks should only be sold in pairs! Like shoes, that's the way they are intended to be used and should only be sold that way.

These should be sold as a pair since a single hook is not useful. The second product review indicates that two hooks are included in an order and this is not correct.
